Castle Anthrax

A castle of many names in movies and TV shows. It was Castle Anthrax in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, it was Winterfell in Game of Thrones and Castle Leoch in Outlander. In reality it is Doune Castle and was built for Robert Stewart, the son of King Robert II (grandson of Robert the Bruce, who reigned from 1371 to 1390.

After today's journey from Liverpool, which wasn't bad at all, I walked from our hotel to the castle. It was only a short walk but it decided to rain when I was on the way back so I got a soaking!


We've just had an excellent meal and tomorrow we'll arrive at our final destination on Mull.
