The Watts Gallery

A visit to the Watts Gallery in Guildford.

George Frederic Watts OM RA (23 February 1817 – 1 July 1904) was a British painter and sculptor associated with the Symbolist movement. He said "I paint ideas, not things.” A delightful gallery and an amazing chapel designed by his wife Mary Seton Watts.

In the evening we had an Indian meal at Copper Chimney in Shepherd’s Bush, saw Chris Sedgwick’s Blue Plaque and went to the Bush Theatre to see Red Pitch
Acting and directing at a very high level and a good story of youthful hopes and the pressures on them - and changing times. Some lovely character work too.
