James Watt, Artist

The Puffer Fraternity

Great to find different views and was of presenting the lives of the puffermen.

Neil Munro's book is certainly the better known and there's a lot to be said for seeing the funny side.

But there was a lot more to the job, to the men.

The research phase of the initiative is its own reward and finding Dan McDonald's book on 'The Clyde Puffer' has revealed a great source. This edition is published by House of Lochar in Colonsay which somehow seems appropriate.

Creating up a list of web links for the pupils too, some with excellent, atmospheric photographs.

It'll be great to see how the pupils use these as they build on what they learn from James Watt and his paintings.
