Zadar’s light is in its people
These two were shining! The young lady on the right turned out to be the great grandaughter of Zvonimir Brkan. He and his brother Ante (better known, as his work was more commercial, including a portrait of Alfred Hitchcock) were well known Zadar photographers and it seems generally cool guys about town. It’s taken a last night stroll to find this gem. The shop (his former home) is called Lilliput. He was very tall and there is a portrait of him walking the streets, seemingly as a giant.
This subject is another rabbit hole to explore, as is Zadar and Croatia. We’ve had a wonderful time.
Today was a sunny, bouncy boat ride around the islands to whirlpools, caves and wrecks, submarine secret hideouts, beef ribs for lunch and a last sunset at the sea organ. I have a lot of photographs… I can’t recommend Zadar enough for anyone, but Scousers… flights next season should be grabbed. There is a whole lot more to discover.
Hvala Croatia!
