Great Dunmow
I stayed overnight in Great Dunmow, a short trip, sadly to attend my uncle's funeral. It is hard to take in, he was diagnosed on 12th August with pancreatic cancer & passed away in the early hours of 13th September at the age of 68, leaving a hugh void in the life of my Aunt, his sons, his mother, his sister & all the family & friends whose lives were lucky enough to have him in it. Gone way too soon, he was an amazing individual gracious, generous & very kind.
The coffin came in to the music The Chain, Formula One Theme, his work provided him with many opportunities to attend Formula 1 races & he should have been at Suzuka for the recent race. The tributes gave a greater insight into how well thought of he was in so many spheres of his life.Very emotional, but a fitting tribute to him.
The blip is one of the local postbox toppers, this one is Matilda (theatre shows theme), coincidentally the lady on reception in the hotel said she was one of the 3 who knit them. She heard my conversation about them.
We were delayed over an hour on the way home, again the flight from Belfast had been delayed due to waiting on cabin crew & this adversely impacted on our journey from Stansted, so I was very late home.
