Stormy.

Sorry if is brightness you are after there wasn't much of that around today.  The first glimpse of sunlight has just entered the room as I write.
A very grey day, a day when Storm Agnes is arriving.  This is Bassenthwaite Lake taken from what would have been the old railway line that ran next to the Lake.  This footpath is at the end of the A66 dual carriageway at a place called Peel Wyke.  These waves are landing with more force than usual being driven by south east winds and pushing the water further through the shoreline trees.
As I write (5.30pm) the wind direction as changed to a south westerly and this is the direction Agnes will come from.  If you like grey there is plenty of it today.
I continued to Grasmere, for gingerbread but the queue was massive, on to Ambleside and on to Kirkstone Pass via 'The Struggle.'  Grey all the way and rain began to fall at Aira Force accompanying me to home.
I might brave it to Harrington this evening and see how powerful the Solway is (or maybe not!!)
