A busy day
'First thing in the morning' walk along the beach and around the town. I met the lovely little Spaniel that I had played with yesterday and we had another lovely play.
Home for breakfast and Ann watched an episode of 'Woman in the Wall'. She's watched two episodes now and can't make up her mind whether she's enjoying it or not. Lol!
Our friend, Iain, is staying with us at the moment but he's never up before midday. Actually, that's a lie................. He gets cross with us when we say that!! If he gets up at 7am and goes to the toilet (and then goes back to bed), he says he's been up from 7am. If he gets up at 9am, has a cigarette (and then goes back to bed), he says he's been up from 9am. Ann says you can't say that you've been up from a certain time until you are dressed and ready to go!!
Anyway it was a beautiful day, so we didn't want to waste it. By this time it was 10.30am, so Ann said that she would take me for an extra walk over at Hayle and then pop into Lidl. So that is what we did. Iain was still in bed at this point.
I had ever such a nice walk at Hayle. We walked for about 1hr 20 mins. Actually that's a lie............. when we were on the dunes I didn't walk. I was running and running and running.
Got home at about 12.50pm and Iain was lying on the sofa reading his book. Ann said, 'Have you had breakfast?' Ann is a very nice host and lets her guests help themselves to whatever they want. Iain said, 'No, I thought we could go out for breakfast.' Obviously Ann had, had breakfast more than 4 hours previously, but she never says no to a lunch out.
TBH, I had prepared myself to having some snooze time when I got home because I don't normally get two long walks before 1pm, but Iain asked me if I wanted to go with them.
We went to 'Tretho Lounge' for lunch (breakfast for Iain) and sat outside people watching and believe me when I say we saw some sights walking along the Wharf!
After lunch, Ann wanted to go swimming in the sea and decided to go to Porthgwidden Beach because Iain had never been there before. (She should have gone to Porthminister Beach where it was nice and calm.)
The plan was.................. Ann would swim for half an hour or so, and Iain would sit at the beach bar and look after me. Best laid plans and all that............................ Unusually the waves were massive on Porthgwidden Beach and after Ann had been knocked to the ground by them 5 times, she decided to give up for H&S reasons. She actually feels quite unwell now. The amount of sea water and sand that has come out of her nose in the last few hours is incredible. I know, I know, too much information. And her eyes are very sore. And when she took off her swimming costume in the bathroom, there was so much sand that fell out of it that it looked like the whole of Porthgwidden Beach was in our bathroom!!! Also, much as I love Iain; when Ann left me and walked into the sea I cried and cried. Why do I do this when she leaves me with people I love?
Got home about 5pm-ish and have spent the evening slobbing about. In fact Ann felt so ill she had to go and lie down for half an hour. The humans have just had mince & tatties for dinner. Ann was planning on making a lasagne. Well it was what Iain wanted and the guest is always right?!
And now I'm about to go for my bedtime wee and then it will be bedtime. And our weather app is showing thundery showers tomorrow. Boohooooo.
As I said; we've had a busy day and I've not had my usual amount of sleep time.
Toodles. xxxx
