Defending the realm

This pillbox was built in the early years of WW2. It was designed to protect the village bridge over the River Ythan should Nazi forces have landed  on our beach.
Back then the Germans were the enemy and the Russians our allies. Now the roles are reversed. Such a huge change in one human life time.
