Returning To Revelation.......

Last week our church celebrated 50 years of ministry in this community and we took a break from our study of Revelation, but we are back at it this week.   We began preparing our hearts for worship with a congregational song, followed by the welcome from Matt.  The choir, orchestra and all our dedicated accompanists presented the worshipful anthem, "Mercy Tree" and then the congregation joined us in a few more songs before Pastor Wes directed our attention to Revelation 2:18-29 where we find the letter God inspired John to write to the church at Thyatira.  Of all the cities with churches that John wrote to, Thyatira was the least significant city compared to the others, but no sin is insignificant to God and though God commended them for some things they had done, He still had one major thing against them.  He was not happy with the fact that they tolerated Jezebel who was teaching things that went directly against what God said and leading people astray into all kinds of debauchery.  God gave her time to repent of her evil ways, but she was unrepentant and so God said that He would destroy her and all who followed her in her heresy, but He promised to save all those who held fast to the truths that they knew.  Pastor Wes had much more to say about all this in the Live-stream, including how this church at Thyatira is probably one that is the most relatable to the times we live in.  It would be worth your time to watch......
