Open doors

It has been open doors weekend in Edinburgh where many locations are open to the public and staffed to explain the building/ location and the activities linked with it. Our son was helping out at the James Clerk Maxwell house.

Many churches and some cemeteries are open. One, the Grange cemetery, featured in the service at our church this morning. It is where the Rev Dugald Christie is buried (1855-1936). He was apparently a member of our congregation and had been a missionary to China. He founded the first medical hospital then medical school in Manchuria.

You live and learn.

PS. My prediction about the weather and shorts was wrong. Turned very mild (19oC) so I took advantage and planted masses of bulbs for next spring.
