Falmouth triathlon

My niece competed earlier in the day, then my grandniece this afternoon.
The wind was gusting over 40mph and the sea was really rough. The adults were given the choice whether they did the swim or not, my niece went for it as she's a good open water swimmer, but she said it was awful with other swimmers bashing into her, people having to be rescued, and struggling to she the buoys you had to swim around because of the waves. The kids swim was cancelled due to the conditions, so they had to do a beach run before the bike. She was brilliant on her new (second hand) road bike, powering up the hill and overtaking several bikes. She's a good natural runner and wasn't going to let a boy overtake her on the finishing stretch.
Fourth again, but she's learning and most of the kids in front of her are members of Tri clubs
