Sloe picking
SUNDAY
I spent another hour or so in the garden trying to do something with the lavender which has been sadly neglected by the previous owner of the house and needs serious attention. I have pruned it back as far as I dared and removed a lot of dead woody stems. Additionally, I have taken a lot of cuttings this month, fearing that I might have to replace it entirely next year.
Late afternoon we went up to the Offa's Dyke path in the Clwydian Hills above the village to pick some sloes are particularly abundant this year. I managed to pick exactly six hundred plump berries which weighed in at 793 grams - see extra
