Not the river

It's been a fairly sunny but coolish day.  We met up with some friends for a morning coffee and then went for a walk to the River Otter estuary.  They were keen to see the recent developments of the Lower Otter Restoration Project.  They had a friend with them who was not from Devon and it took some while for him to understand what had happened in the area.  Basically a new bridge had been put in place but the bridge is not over the River Otter.  The water in the foreground is where the tidal river water has flowed into the flood plain.  The river is not visible from here and is situated behind the shrubs and hedges in the distance.  As the bridge and footpath along the river is currently closed this was not clear.

We then headed back into Budleigh Salterton walking along the beach and into town.  We left our friends who were picking up some food for lunch while we went off to the doctors for our flu jabs.  I wondered if we would be offered a covid one as well and we were.  So both have been done now.  We returned home after visiting the book stall in the book festival marquee.  Several books were purchased including one for our grandson and another as a birthday present for our son.

A productive day, but now time to relax.
