Heroes Square..

First stop this morning after boarding the 'hop on hop off' big red bus.. Another glorious hot and sunny day and such an amazing place to visit..
We wandered around the park and then caught the bus on to the next stop... visiting the Citadel where I managed to get an overview of the Danube and the extent of the flooding

Now this evening the heavens have opened again with thunder, lightening and more rain...

Update: later this evening the rain stopped and we decided to wander down past the Basilica to the Danube to check whether it had breached the banks...
The water had risen but is still relatively contained... and the golden lights have returned in most places...
