Saturday in Santorini

Last day of the cruise today before we head back to Piraeus (Athens) and we are in the beautiful volcanic island of Santorini.

Here’s the view from our balcony, and as we have here so many times we have decided to stay on the ship and enjoy the view. In part, our decision is also due to the fact that we reckon the queue for the funicular will be very long and can’t be bothered waiting in 30 degree heat for up to two hours to get to the top once we have tendered in.

There are alternatives, such as either walking up or using donkeys. However, we would never use the donkeys due to animal welfare issues and walking up would kill us. We have walked up in the past, and it did nearly finish us off!
