On the way to the garage

This caught my eye on the way into the garage today, to pick my car up after its annual service and MOT test. The brightness cheered me up, though I've no idea who's behind the history/heritage statement.
Later I met Eben from school and brought him back to our house for some drum practice. Our deal, which we've been refining gradually, is that he practises for a short time when we get in, and then we have time for games and/or TV before tea. I'm aiming to avoid the potential rut of music practice as chore, and to keep the emphasis on fun. So today there were some fairly chaotic "drum solos" mixed in with the more basic rock beat practice. We're also exploring YouTube music videos. Today we watched a sequence from Glastonbury. Eben was completely amazed at the sheer number of people there - it was interesting to watch his reaction. After that we had pizza for tea... treats all round.
