Abstract Bodnant
Firstly, thanks so much for the lovely comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s Carpe Diem set - all very much appreciated.
Amazingly, the weather this morning is fine and sunny, blue skies just inviting us to take a trip to Bodnant. It seems that everyone else has had the same idea, with parking spaces only available in the top car park despite the fact it’s not yet 11 o’clock. Mind you, for months now G has dropped me off next to the cafe, such is my walking capacity these days.
Typically, not long after we arrive, the dark clouds that have been threatening in the east move in. The sun disappears, the heavens open and I’m forced to shelter underneath the wisteria, looking out over the lily ponds; there are worse places to be!
G has gone off on his Grand Tour of the gardens and presumably is sheltering elsewhere, but once the rain dies down, I’m off to seek a subject for Ingeborg’s floral abstract challenge.
Of course this being Bodnant there’s plenty of choice - though I don’t get anywhere near yesterday’s crazy photo haul. Still, should I go with the autumn crocus, a beautiful water lily like bloom on spindly stems, pale pink and delicate; or the vibrant yellow daisies flowering in the still-flourishing herbaceous border? Decisions, decisions …..
