Yesterday was a busy and interesting day. Damp and for the first time l felt the need for a jumper, l went over to the Cathedral city of Canterbury.  Oh what a sad sight to see, a lot of the shops are closed and there is an air of quiet desperation  on the once vibrant high street.  This is down to not only the Covid pandemic and a government who seems to demand more yet give back less but also the church who own large sectors of town and have had an idea to update buildings and have ejected many people out of their little independent shops.  I spoke to one man who was packing up  the following day after his rent had been put up every month for the last 3.

On a happier note l went over to the wetlands  in Pegwell Bay later in the afternoon, the tide was in and there were 3 Egrets fishing in a nearby pond which is where l took todays photo.  I got chatting to a lovely couple who showed me a secret path out to where l could see the huge bank of seals.
