Auntie Nessie
My Auntie Nessie is off back to Canada on Tuesday, Victoria on Vancouver Island to be precise. She emigrated there back in the '50s but has been coming home to Scotland every summer for nearly thirty years. Although she has a heart condition she is amazingly vital for an 88 year old. She travels every year on her own and over the years has been as far as Australia and New Zealand for holidays.
Each year she says she'll be back and I hope she makes it next year although she is stone deaf and communication is exhausting for everyone and very frustrating for her. But we have a laugh. Each year she asks me to go over to visit her and maybe I should try.
Today I picked her up to take her to her church service then my cousin Ann and I picked her up and went for lunch then a trip round the area in East Lothian where she grew up. It was lovely up until mid afternoon then we had thunder, lightening and torrential rain. We finished off with Sunday dinner with Ann and her husband Bob.
A lovely day.
