Monastario de Piedra

Well that was an amazing day. Based on a recommendation from last night's friends we headed SW to here. We passed a wind farm, solar farm, pig farm, olive groves, almond groves and vineyards to get to Nuevalos.

We wound on downhill to get to the monastery and park. A trail through a forest with caves, tunnels, waterfalls and lakes was beautiful. We walked way behind a massive waterfall, it was all very impressive. Hard to pick a photo, especially on the small screen of the phone. The monastery itself was beautiful too, crumbling remains with cloisters intact.
We had late lunch at a great place in the nearby village, I had the steak tartare where the woman mixed it up in front of me.
We made it back to the city then just in time for a quick visit to the moorish palace, Aljaferia, where the parliament now sit. What an impressive restoration that is.
