Taking the long view

Here is Ryde Pier, a triple pier with railway track, a road and a pedestrian walkway. A railway station at both ends and ferry terminal at it’s seaward end,
Built in 1878 to 1880 with repairs culminating in major refurbishment in 1960 with promises that it would be serviceable until 2020, but still going strong,
It is the second longest pier in the U.K. at 687 metres, (Southend pier is 2158 metres)
