First Flower

This cheerful daffodil is the first bulb to come up and bloom. Today I finished almost all the garden planting, both flowers and vegetables. The kind of vegetables that do really well here are broccoli, potatoes, cabbage, peas, lettuce, and carrots.

It was a sunny day so we BBQ'd burgers, but we had to eat inside because we couldn't compete with the mosquitoes!
