Forest Bug

Had a busy day today with washing and shopping and visiting a friend so just a quick walk around the garden this afternoon. 
I believe this is a Forest Bug which is one of the shield bug family. I'm surprised to find it in my garden on the hardy geraniums as it is mainly herbivorous, feeding on the sap of deciduous trees, particularly oaks growing along sheltered woodland edges, none of which are close by. 

Hubby has gone to games and I'm off to Mum's shortly so probably won't get to go back on your journals as I'd hoped. I'll start with today's images and see if I can find the time later in the week to go back. Apologies if I don't get around to it.
