The squirrels missed these nuts!

During recent weeks I had collected a few horse chestnuts, ones where the outer casings were still green and intact. I put them on a tray in my sun room where I hope they would ripen ... and they did.

I chose my four favourites and put them into a collage. There are still three very large conkers waiting to ripen but the weather has turned rather dull and wet serhaps they never will.

We did have a warm sunny morning but by early afternoon the heavy downpours had returned.
