Late flowering sweet pea

We usually transport our Strelizia plant outside for the summer months but this year left it in the conservatory. A sweet pea emerged and coiled itself around the Strelizia and has now flowered.

The seed must be from last year’s summer sojourn, planted there by a bird/squirrel/strong wind/ bursting seed pod (most likely)

I will trim it back to root level when the flowering is done and report back next year.

Meanwhile we have a lovely fresh Strelizia flower spike coming on nicely.
