Hiding in plain sight

During a break in the heavy rain of the last few hours I spotted this Sycamore seedling growing in the middle of a rose bush. As the soil was very wet I was able to pull it out quite easily to dispose of. I think it was probably in its second year with the stem about 18 inches high, and the tap  root probably 10-12 inches. If this was the highlight of my day it just demonstrates how foul the weather has been.
