Believe in Boston

This will be short as I am tired and it is late.

I woke early and zipped over to the laundromat next door to Helena's to do her and our wash. Ruthie was the attendant and we had a good conversation.

Friends of Helena's took us into the city where we met Helena and then went for a bit of a drive around town. James and Amanda took us near to where we are going tomorrow to begin our week at the Boston Early Music Festival. Then they took us to Copley Square because I had mentioned that I loved to take photos of new city buildings with old ones reflected in their mirror surfaces. I took some photos of a beautiful old church in a large shiny building and thought I would blip that. But as we walked around the square we came upon the memorial to the runners and bystanders who were hurt or killed by the bombs that went off during the Boston Marathon. The memorial covered a large section of the square and was very moving. This portion was about the resilience of the city of Boston. It was sobering and sad to think of the lost and damaged lives because of this terrible event.

After our visit there we went to James and Amanda's home and they cooked us a delicious and healthy dinner. We had a great evening with them.
