WOW for the Whinlatter Volunteers!

The day started off with heavy rain but by the time we had finished the end of season meeting with the WOW Trail Volunteers it had eased off. 
I can't begin to say how much I respect and admire this amazing band of people. They have taken on board new ways of working and engaging with the public and have  brought this landscape to life for hundreds of visitors since April. Introducing nesting woodpeckers and ospreys, red squirrels, trees and plants, climate and forest sustainability they have enthusiastically taken on every challenge of widening their knowledge base and sharing this with others. 
Feedback is 100% sunshine positive and after the stormy covid years which put the whole project on hold, a rainbow at the end of the day seems a fitting symbol of what has been achieved!
