Kookaburra

An early morning visitor. This is the same kookaburra in two different poses. We are not allowed to feed the birds in the Village but I think if I had some appropriate food I would have been tempted. 

There is a general view in Australia that feeding birds is unnecessary as they have plenty of natural food available in nature and we don’t have long harsh winters as can occur in other countries. Despite this many people do feed birds. I think I read in one of our newsletters that the reason the Village management asks we don’t feed the birds is because it can cause fights between the birds.
