Snapjax and Alice B

It was Snapjax who introduced me to Blipfoto.  We agreed we couldn’t really claim this as a blipmeet as we’ve known each other for almost 40 years.  It turns out they too were house and cat-sitting, just a bit further west,  in Penzance, so I went down to spend the day with them.
We went over to Marazion, in very unpromising heavy rain.  But decided to walk anyway, and as it was low tide we crossed the causeway to St Michael’s Mount.  The rain stopped almost immediately, and the sun followed soon after. We didn’t visit the Mount as lunch awaited us in the Goldolphin Hotel restaurant, a beautiful venue which over looks the sea. They do pretty special food there. We sat and chatted for hours; it was lovely to have time to talk about the various things which are important to us, as we get older, while gazing out at the sun on the sea. Which was so bright that my subjects faces are a bit shadowy, but you can still see I think. I soon discovered that this was another episode in my endless birthday celebrations, and that I was being treated to the lovely lunch. Afterwards we walked for a while on the beach.  The extra is another example of faces in shadow, but worth including as it also shows St Michael’s Mount.
In the evening, thanks to the wonders of wifi, I saw my friends in Orkney too - and we watched our weekly film, and the spoke about it briefly afterwards.  We watched “Dantza” a Basque film, where the rhythms of life, and the farming year, are shown through music and dance.  No dialogue at all. It maybe sounds a bit dreadful, or pretentious, but it was really beautiful:)
