Soup making

Yesterday’s harvest turned into soup. I often wonder why the timing on recipes is always at odds with the time it takes me to make it. Am I totally incompetent, or do they lie? We had soup as a starter for our dinner and it was yummy. And it tasted so much better than tinned tomato soup.
