Standing room only!

Our ferry this morning was very quiet. For the first time, we sailed with DFDS, reluctant to use P&O as usual for obvious reasons. What we hadn’t realised was that DFDS is mainly a freight carrier and is not used that much by other vehicles. All the truck drivers disappear to their own sections of the boat, leaving the rest of us to a rather nice seating area all to ourselves. And we get on and off very quickly indeed. (Still had to suffer the long waits to get through passport control before travelling though . . . sigh!)

We have had a lovely week wandering about and experiencing France again. We were last there in 2019, the biggest gap in visiting we have had since we first started having family holidays there when the children were very young. This September we wanted a few days there, taking it slow and with a couple of destinations in mind. And that’s what we have had and really enjoyed it, but we are now ready to return, rent a house and settle down to living in France for a length of time. Next year . . .

We are now home, Gordon has disappeared to watch Rugby and I will catch up with everyone.
