Acquedotto

Part of the water system that supplies 70 houses. There is another stronger spring higher up the hill with a 40,000 litre holding tank. The one shown here is on our land and I strim back the verdant growth around it twice a year.

These v local water systems were developed by peasant organisations in the 1950s with government backing for materials. We pay a mere €70 for our water for a year.

The extra is the castle symbol that someone welded to the door to one of the springs during an update. The castle is probably Poppi castle nearby although there are many, including in our comune, Castel san Niccolò.

Hot again today in this incessant summer. We’re all heartily sick of it and want some benign, misty, cool autumn weather.
