The King's Lock
Today's the day ........................ to go to the Pub
An absolutely vital part of any canal holiday is that drink in the pub at the end of a long, hard day of negotiating locks, walking the tow-paths and generally covering the miles.
There are always lots of local pubs to choose from - and plenty of local ales to sample and appraise. It all helps to get a flavour of the part of the country you are exploring - in our case Staffordshire and the Potteries. The King's Lock at Middlewich was the very first pub that we tried as we set off.
This is the 'Fjord Viscount' quietly slipping past on our way back .................
