Another try?

YONKS ago I grew some NaCl (Salt) crystals to a reasonable size ≈ 4-5mm.  This is supposedly a Salt Crystal from some "Himalayan 'Pin' Salt"
They were all significantly flatter than their "width"; thus inspiring yet another attempt?
      For the record - the pink is just an impurity.  The solution will be clear, with a pink 'sludge' lying in the bottom.
