Deer me!

Every week, our local paper publishes a local walk (local being anywhere within a radius of 20 miles or so). Today we tried the walk around the village of Compton Dando, a few miles from Bath.

Now, if I lived in the country, and if my home was approached by a track that looks like one of the many public bridleways in the area, and if I saw a couple on the track who were heading for the lane, clutching a set of directions, and if that couple were only about 50 yards away from the public footpath, I'd like to think that I'd stop and ask them if they were looking for the footpath. I certainly hope I wouldn't just bluntly demand to know what they were doing on my property.

Still, it was worth it to see the deer. This photo is very heavily cropped...
