Foundation-Warming Dance
Beautiful day, if a bit windy. My wife is away quite a bit on business these days (just back from Albania and off to London tomorrow) so we took this window to drive down to Wexford and see the recently laid foundations for our new wooden summer house (on the edge of a small wood). It's one of those flat-packed ones (very good quality wood etc.), which takes a few days to put up; the workers are due to start next week.
It's been quite a journey, with many alternative structures considered. We looked at some new, non-wooden mobile homes and got thoroughly put off. They felt like doll's houses. The smell of plastic fittings was overwhelming. And they were expensive to boot. My wife plans make it largely self-sustaining: solar panels, bio/compost toilet, etc. I don't know much about the technology; it's her baby really, but it all looks very promising. Nice sunny prospect too. I wanted to get the wean to stand still so that I could take THIS PHOTO, but he insisted on doing a spontaneous dance. I also took THIS ONE of his dog
