Bus Challenge No 193

Wilkos! - Kingswood, Bristol

Today’s challenge was twofold: firstly to visit a Wilkos store before the chain sadly closes for good, and secondly to distract/cheer up K who joined me on this morning’s madcap adventure.

It was a lovely warm, sunny day (23) and we had a giggle on the bus as it went all round the suburbs of east Bristol before finally arriving in Kingswood. Hoped to pick up some closing down bargains but the shelves were already quite empty. K picked up a few bits and pieces for Ronnie and Ivy and some Christmas baubles, and I came home with a bird feeder, two kitchen spoons and a Christmas toy for the dogs. Oh, and I also came home with some summer strawberries, and some Christmas mince pies!

So not the most exciting of pics, my extra of some street art in Kingswood is probably more interesting, but as Wilkos was the aim of today’s challenge that’s my blip for today.

Total bus journey time = 1 hour 15mins

In other news, today was Dad’s first day at a day care centre in Bath. He was very anxious about going, and sadly can’t remember anything that he did, but hopefully it means that I’ll now have one day a week to myself, well, from 9-3. And the mechanic didn’t turn up again to collect my car, more excuses. Thank you for all your kind words yesterday for poor E, he is receiving the best of NHS care, including a new trial drug that costs £35,000 a year! K was a lot more upbeat today, especially after our exciting bus trip! Been awake since 5.30am so will catch up with you all tomorrow. An early night is on the cards...
