Female Tuftie

After having coffee with friends I took a quick visit to Maxwell Park.
I don't remember ever seeing Tufted Ducks sitting or standing on the edge of the pond. Unlike Mallards the Tufties stay on the water or they head towards the small island in the centre of the pond.

No difficulty in distinguishing male from female .... the males are black and white and the females dark brown but both have very vivid yellow eyes.
