Spitfire!

A pre-birthday day out today! We went to Skipton this morning for breakfast then a wander around the shops and market! We also walked along the canal as far as the castle. 

I prepared for my status as an OAP by buying myself a flat hat to keep t’ead warm in winter.

At lunchtime we set off for Grassington and partook of tea and cakes in a little cafe. The village was being decorated for a ‘40s’ event this weekend, hence the Spitfire parked in the square. There were a couple of vintage vehicles driving around and one or two ‘characters’ in period uniforms. A lot of the windows had been ‘criss-crossed’ with masking tape to give a wartime impression.

I have added an extra of a rather ingenious motorcycle and trailer, which was lurking in a small courtyard.
