A little bit rain-battered

Late this afternoon, having just finished the next in the Detective Inspector Slider series, I took a quick walk. The first photo I took was a camellia flower on a tree in someone's garden

A Tui flew at speed over my head (felt much closer than it really was) and then came to rest in a nearby tree. Almost as if deliberately gaining my attention. But then was constantly either behind branches and leaves or jumping around. A little further on I saw a medium-sized Kowhai tree, in blossom, and with three or four Tui. I wasn't able to get a clear shot of any of them.

The flower is pretty
