Long borders!

Based I believe on a design from 1712, these borders have been a work of art for the gardeners involved at Dyrham Park.  After the heavy rains in July, many of the perennials had to be taken out to be replaced with annuals. The topiaries are created using other plants such as yew or fir as well as the new box spheres, grown like a standard. The effect is stunning, but when it is over thousands of bulbs will be planted for the spring.  What a job!
