Having a blast

This dog and another were having an excellent time on Bruntsfield Links late this afternoon (or "prevening", as Sheldon would call it). An overcast morning turned into a beautiful afternoon, albeit breezy - well, it is Edinburgh.

Saw a friend for lunch at Freemans in Marchmont (she treated me :)), then we both had tea and cake with the mum of a mutual friend. The mum's actual daughter lives in Melbourne, so we're enjoying a surrogate role.

Woefully behind on ironing and email. I will tackle one of them in just...one...minute.

Sad to hear Iain Banks died today. Two months seems fast, even for that sort of prognosis. I've never read any of his books (not personal - I'm a lazy reader), but I did see him speak very well at last year's Festival of Politics at the Scottish Parliament.
