Meanwhile in NZ
Was it really only a week ago that we were swimming off Ventry strand in a sweltering 26c degrees! Diabolical today - 14c and non-stop lashing. I only went out to see if there was any post - 50 euro on the premium bonds so can't complain - and that's it. I have a talk next week for Culture Night so it's been a good excuse to get stuck into that. It's going to be posh, tea and biscuits afterwards.
An enjoyable book club meeting last night, the first I've been to for ages, and we all had to pitch our recommended books for the forth-coming year. Our first read is actually a listen as we are going for an audio book - Nan's Shepherd's The Living Mountain, read by Tilda Swinton. I think I don't like audio books but I might be proved very wrong.
Thank goodness for some Esme photos for I've not taken my camera out of its bag today. How nice to find this on a public beach and look, she's a girl after her Momos' heart - pink wellies. And on a dull day in Takaka one has to amuse oneself - how many knickers can a girl get on her head? I might resort to that challenge tomorrow if its still raining.
