Cattle Egret - 100
This is one of the eight cattle egret that I saw at Marsh Covert hide at Burton today. The extra is five of the thirteen curlew sandpipers (bird 101) that were on the main scrape and the first I have seen this year although they were a bit too far away for a decent picture.
They were continuing to clear the reeds in front of the visitor's centre today and for those of you who visit occasionally it is looking completely different. They have also improved the sand martin wall by rendering the front and providing smaller diameter pipes. The previous version had never worked but hopefully it now has a better design.
Some branches have also been added into the water in front of the visitor's centre to attract kingfisher and I was fortunate to see the first one land today. I have spotted the kingfisher on the last few Thursday's so this is a really promising sight.
Tomorrow we are going up to Scotland for a holiday. I will continue to blip but apologies in advance for the lack of comments on your photos.
