WI Bookclub

We had been reading The Other Half of Augusta Hope this month. It’s a first novel and received lots of plaudits from the reviewers. I found it a bit confusing. There are two stories intertwined, one of a twin born in a different month from her twin sister. They were called Julia and Augusta. The other, less detailed story was of a man from Burundi who travelled to Spain on a small boat with his younger brother, the younger brother died on the trip. . I find that books that are complex are difficult for me to follow and that was the case with this one, but it does deal with the difficulties experienced by the boat people.
