Linden tree (Lipa)

... or sometimes known as a lime tree. It will obviously soon flower and the bees will make special honey which some people particularly like. They aren't to be confused with the citrus producing genus. I have never knowingly seen one of these trees in England which is why I though I would show you what they look like. I associate the leaves with Ivor Cutler and him wiping the mud from his shoe with one of its leaves. I was surprised to find that people over here make an infusion of its flowers to make a herbal tea, the taste of which I find very reminiscent of hot water but maybe I have no taste buds. In Poland, the tree is called Lipa, and is often called upon to describe poor work. The tree is not rare.

The original one in this place was struck down by lightning and this one is growing from the root that was left. I have been cutting down the other competing shoots over the years and this chosen one is now looking very much like a tree.
