Colour and texture

Ideal weather today, long may it last! The boys went off to Open Farm Sunday to a large dairy farm up the road. They have several hundred milking cows supervised by a team of Polish workers. N and I gardened instead and afterwards took the dog to a wood near us where we enjoyed the quietness and cool temperature. The birdsong accompanied us up the path, the orchids are late this year, just showing with tightly closed buds, but the Yellow Flags were out by the old pond.

I espied this Scotts Pine with ivy climbing across its bark and just had a bit of fun with the colour!
