Pick a Peck o’ Peppers
Wednesday=Farmers’ Market. We’ve got zucchini coming out of our ears, which is an interesting image, so there’s no need for much vegetable shopping, but a small piece of swordfish followed us home. And some strawberries. It’s always fun to see what the dominant colors are in all that produce.
Today’s culinary accomplishments: curried zucchini soup (which didn’t make a dent in our supply, but smells really good), and a nice apple pie (which also didn’t make a dent in the pile of apples, but smells really good). The soup’s for lunches, because I’m tired of rice cakes and avocados—how come there’s nothing to eat when there’s a house full of ingredients? And the pie is for tonight, which luckily is very soon.
