Aged to perfection

Today we again went to the Plough in Simpon, this time for lunch, to celebrate David's 70th birthday. Carole, David's wife, had meticulously planned every detail and booked-out the restaurant for the 42 guests. We were delighted and honoured to find we were on a table with Carole and David and their long-standing friends Jacquie-Ann and Jesse.

Beth, David's daughter, ordered the above birthday cake from a cake shop in Manchester - which was amazing in its detail. David's son Kit, and his band The Disciples of Gonzo, played an acoustic set (and very good they were too).

We all had a lovely three course lunch and the cake was as delicious as it looked.
